Bangladesh seeks Vietnamese help in farming

The visiting Director General of Delta Rice Research Institute of Vietnam (DRRIV) Dr Bui Chi Buu called on Agriculture Minister MK Anwar at his office in Dhaka on Wednesday, reports BSS.
During the meeting, minister Anwar while pointing on climatic and other similarities between the Bangladesh and Vietnam, sought Hanoi’s help to develop short duration rice variety in the country, an official handout said. Assistance was also sought on exchange of germ plasma and parentale line to produce hybrid seed in Bangladesh and develop fine rice miller locally.
The Vietnamese official said that his country made progress in these areas and added that there are plenty of scope to share experiences for mutual benefits, the handout added.
