Vast tracts of char (island)have emerged in the Meghna and Bay at the East, West and South of Hatiya

NOAKHALI, Dec 6:Vast tracts of char have emerged in the Meghna and Bay at the East, West and South of Hatiya in the district covering hundreds of kilometers. It is expected that an extensive plain land Noakhali district will be included. The area of the newly emerged char will be those of several upazilas.

Thousands of kilometers of newly emerged char regions have already become under human habitation. Cultivation including farming of paddy, poultry, shrimp, fish and tree plantation were started by the dwellers.

People coming from different remote places of the district and other districts began to live there with family members, kiths and kins together. They have already started rearing domestic animals like cows, goats and buffaloes. They established makeshifts with bamboo and polythene roofs. They are earning livelihood by fishing and farming.
However, the chars are emerging and increasing day by day.

According to source the chars emerged especially at the South-East of Naber Char near Swandwip, across Noakhali Steamerghat and Hatiya, beside char Moulovi among Tomaruddi, Hatiya and Monpura, to the east of Rahmat Bazar, South East of Hatiya and across Rahmat Bazar Beri and Zahajmara.

Experts say it is expected that within a decade the distances, between Hatiya Swandwip and Monpura will be shorter to great extent and the emerging chars may connect them with land while the people of these places will be able to enjoy a new era utilizing the newly emerged char area in the best possible way
