Bangladeshi woman tortured by Indian BSF in Benapole

Benapole, Aug 29 (UNB) – A Bangladeshi woman was beaten up and badly injured allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Petrapole border in no-man’s-land on Tuesday evening.

The victim was identified as Achhia Khatun, 42, wife of Swapan of Jhikargachha upazila of Jessore district.

Injured Achhia said she entered the area to buy fruits in the evening. BSF jawans of Petrapole camp caught her after a hot chase, took her to their camp and beat her mercilessly. Later, they left her in the border area.

Local people hearing her cry for help rescued and got her admitted into a local clinic.
