Bancharampur My Inhast Watanam: Not much changed from 1971

Friday August 31 2012 14:22:54 PM BDT

Lt Col (Retd) Md Shahadat Hossain, psc

Is Bancharampur the most neglected upo zila of Bangladesh?

I was then only a student of grade four when we were forced to leave at our village home during the war of liberation. But that undeveloped area is the same rather worst until now. I noticed only a surprising change that now people can talk over cell phone even from the boat over the then mighty River Titash which is now one of the worst rivers of course. People's money, hard earned from Middle East, are taken away by digital mobile companies!!!

I regret as to why I was not an adult in1974 so that I could join the Mukti Bahini. I wish to go back in 1971 to become a different type of freedom fighter to bring the change according to the dream of all freedom fighters.

May The Almighty Allah Bless us all including my home town, the poor Bancharampur, my inhast watanam!!!
