Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF along Thakurgaon border

Thakurgaon, Sept 1 (UNB) - A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near Nagorbhita border in Baliadangi upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Azirul, 30, son of Potla Mohammad of Dakkhin Doari village in the upazila.

Lt Col Touhidul Islam, commander of BGB-30 battalion said BSF members of nearby Tingaon camp opened fire on Azirul when he was entering India crossing pillar no. 376/4, leaving him dead on the spot at about 3 am.

BGB sent a letter to its Indian counterpart demanding immediate return of the body.
