3 farmers shot by Indian BSF along C’nawabganj border

Chapainawabganj, Oct 7 (UNB) – Three Bangladeshi farmers were shot and wounded by the members of Indian Security Force (BSF) along Chakpara border in Shibganj upazila on Sunday morning.
The victims were identified as Setabul Islam, 45, Sayem, 30, Saidur, 32 of Unish Bighi village in the upazila.
Lieutenant Colonel Monjurul Alam of BGB Battalion-9 said the BSF troops of Naoda camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi farmers while they were working on their field at about 7am, leaving three farmers injured.
Later, locals rescued them and rushed them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, a flag meeting was held between Border Guard Bangladesh and BSF at about 8 am where BGB strongly protested the incident.
